01 Jan “New, Fresh, Unspoiled”
Just think, a brand new year! It is fresh, and so far you haven’t messed it up too bad, have you?
This verse reminds me of the new year as it starts. Isaiah 1:18 — “Come now let us reason together, says the Lord: Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow, though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
“Come,” reminds us that we are to reason in a most unreasonable time. The USA and our world is in deep trouble, because most of the world is rebelling against God. Many have chosen to ignore God completely. Sin is everywhere, and corruption abounds. People in general are sin-sick. Violence is showcased on TV and movies.
God is trying to get our attention through chastisement, and it works well for some, but obviously not all. Yet, the invitation is still there. God is offering mercy and grace. He wants to send no man to hell. That is why He sent Jesus to pay the ultimate price for sin.
God is calling the ungodly to Himself. The invite is there. “COME.” If you have left Him … COME BACK. If you think you are too great a sinner and can’t be forgiven, COME, because only the lies of the devil keep the load of sin on your shoulders.
If you have disappointed God by making a mess of yourself, COME. If you think you are okay just as you are, because you are a good person with a moral standard that is commendable, remember this: Good doesn’t mean you are saved. You, too, should COME.
There is no better way to start 2022 than to make an altar. COME into His Presence. Get alone. Talk to Jesus. Let Him know you need Him more than ever. It is the only way to start 2022. It is one thing to survive a year, but another thing to thrive. Personally, I don’t want to just survive, I want to thrive.
So, join me as we start 2022. Let us COME, start clean, and receive His Promise. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.”
May you have a blessed, prosperous 2022!
