17 Jul “I Thank God …”
Today, Pastor Stan & Gevena are in Kenya, Africa, taking the Gospel to those who have seldom or never heard of Jesus. We so appreciate the blessing you give us by allowing us the freedom to “GO” as God has commanded us to do. God blesses you, Living Waters Church, because you are giving us this freedom to minister as the Holy Spirit directs us.
Rev. Chris and Lessie Simms will be ministering in our absence for the next two weeks, July 18 & July 25, 2021. Chris and Lessie are a gift that God has sent our way. You will enjoy their ministry.
We always find ourselves praying often for all of you while we are gone. Paul often wrote in his epistles that he thanked God upon every remembrance of those places and people he had left behind, as he answered the leading of the Holy Spirit. “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:3-6
It is comforting to know that Christ began a good work in you. It is called “Propitiation,” which is defined as, “The atoning sacrifice (Jesus shedding His blood and dying on the Cross by crucifixion) holds back the wrath of God that should be directed at us, because of our sinfulness and worldliness. Not only us, but the sins of all believers throughout the whole world.”
I love the phrase that says, “… being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Jesus gave you salvation (the good work). What were you saved from? Sin, death, and hell. Jesus started this good work, but then promises that He will be our able Advocate (the One who speaks on our behalf to your Father God) until Jesus returns and presents us to “Abba, Daddy.”
I believe Jesus will be so proud when He says, “Father, here are the many whom I died for. I now present them to you as those who have been redeemed by My Blood. They were never perfect, but they are forgiven.” At that point, Father will look at you and me and welcome us into Heaven. What a glorious way to begin eternity! I believe we will look around and see Africans, Europeans, people from Mexico, and South America, China, Arab countries. Together, we will sing a new song, in a joyous language we will all have in common.
Today, Gevena and I thank God for every one of you. You have made a great difference in our lives.
P.S.: We Love You All!
