“Ad Nauseam”

“Ad Nauseam”

With each passing day, headlines like, “Congress is going crazy!” “COVID is worse than other health challenges the world has ever seen,” etc., etc., “ad nauseam.” “Ad nauseam” is defined this way: “… to a sickening degree, a topic that has been discussed and analyzed to the point it makes you sick to continue the discussion.”

That is honestly the way I feel about much of current events, so called “News.” Covid crud, politics, economy, the skin color of another person, etc.

Covid? Why worry? You will get it or not. Could you get sick? Yes. Might you have it and not know it? Yes. Could you die? Possibly. Turn it over to Jesus, be wise and practice good hygiene, then get on with life.

Politics? It’s gonna happen, it is happening. What can we do about it? Pray. Guard your heart and spirit from becoming overwhelmed with all the uncertainty of news. Put your prayers and trust in Jesus.

Race issues? There are some issues. However, we all need to look past color, and understand that all humanity has a number of things in common that transcend skin color. 1. God created all of humanity. 2. You are special by God’s design, no matter your skin color, your socio-economic factor, etc. 3. We all bleed red. Rejoice in who God made you to be. You are not an accident, and God thought you … that’s right, YOU … are such a fine creation He sent Jesus to die for your sin and sin nature. God thought you were worth Jesus dying for!

Environmental issues? While humanity should avoid contaminating our soils, etc., we need to understand, there will be a new world someday. “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also, there was no more sea.” Revelation 21:1. The world was not intended to last forever … God said so!

There is a certain futility to this world, but there is HOPE dripping from everything written in the Bible. “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away.”   Matthew 24:35

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My Voice and opens the door, I will come into him, and dine with him, and he with ME.”

 Jesus is NOT “Ad Nauseam”!
