27 Mar “Killings in Boulder … Chaos at Our US Borders … What is Next?”
Such tragedy in Boulder! So sad! The slain police officer had seven children. God bless his family! The other families who have lost loved ones: God bless and help them as well.
Why? For years, our society has gone downhill in regards to Jesus Christ. Many deny Jesus, or are angry about the claims of the Gospel. I can hear it now: “If God is good, then why did He allow this tragedy to occur?” The tragedy occurred because we were born into a world filled with sin. You might say, “But, I am innocent. Why did this happen to me and us?” No, we are not innocent. “As it is written: There is none righteous, no not one.” Romans 3:10. We live in an evil world, and we are part of that chaos, even when we have turned our lives over to Jesus and made Him the Captain of our souls. So many hate God and deny His claims on humanity. Our current generation has, for the large part, ignored this verse in the Bible: “For you were bought at a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Cor. 6:20 Ignoring what God has said brings His punishment on human kind. That has always been God’s Way!
My heart really goes out to what is happening at our Southern border of the US. There are so many questions that are unanswered. Why has our current president allowed and ignored this chaos? Why? Why? Why? Should I keep my mouth shut about it? No, as a US citizen, I have the right to speak up. However, “Whys” accomplish nothing! There is one question that I can speak about. “What can I, and we as a church, do about this crisis?” The answer is, take the whole matter to Jesus! He is the One who specializes in the impossible. Jesus can take lemons and turn them to lemonade. Jesus was the One who Himself claimed, “Destroy this Temple and I will raise it up in three days.” Jesus always does what He says He will do. Jesus has never broken a promise. Jesus has never failed.
I do grieve for the border crisis, and the crazy violence in Boulder, Colorado this week. What I, and all of us, must do is take the matter to Jesus, and appeal to a higher court — The court of the Almighty!
Let Us Pray!
