“Giving Thanks for God’s Promises”

“Giving Thanks for God’s Promises”

This week we celebrate Thanksgiving. Thank God for our USA and being part of one nation under God.

“Thanksgiving” is mentioned 30 times in the KJV. By definition it means:  “Acknowledging what is right about God in praise and thanksgiving.”

I really like Psalm 103 as it states the following:

Bless the Lord, o my soul,

and all that is within me, bless His holy Name.

Bless the Lord, oh my soul,

and forget none of His benefits;

Who pardons all your iniquities,

Who heals all your diseases;

Who redeems you from the pit,

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion

Who satisfies your years with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.”

Psalm 103:1-5. NASB

I cannot think of a better way to pray over a family sit-down meal than to repeat this as a prayer and praise.

May we enter this holiday season promising ourselves to keep Christ and His love for us at the center of all we celebrate this season.

Happy Thanks-Giving!
